I would like to talk about my friend Olivia Newton-John.
Olivia is relatively new to my circle of friends and I to hers, with the universe placing us together for a common cause and ironically, through my book, and now through a soon to be release cookbook, ‘Livewise’written by Olivia which is soon to be released by Murdock books around mother’s day. I am very fortunate to be part of this book, and to have been asked to contribute to some of the recipes. It is a book that has been written for her charity ‘The Cancer and Wellness Centre’ – all monies will go to the charity. This centre is about supporting the whole person through cancer – mind, body and soul.
Not too many people would expect a phone call on a Sunday morning from one of our most loved and treasured recording and movies stars. Yet for some reason or other I new this day was going to come. Call it intuition or just a universal knowing. There it was, and I feel most blessed. Not because of her fame, which is one thing that is so easily overlooked when talking to Olivia because she overlooks it herself, and is so genuine and caring. There is no ego to this amazing lady who has been through so many ups and downs in her own life; the only difference between she, you and I is her life is often splatted all over the newspaper and magazines – often reported with many add-ons that flower the story and are not necessarily true. In saying that a magazine called MINDFOOD has just hit the shevles of the newsagencies and is about setting the record straight- Olivia is on the cover. The story is very down to earth as Olivia is and worth a read. She also talks about her new cook book, and who was involved including me, which I am so grateful for because we are both trying to help change the way people think about cancer and help those sufferers become ‘Cancer Thrivers’. Both Olivia and I beleive our mind plays a huge role in our ability to get well and of course nutrition.
I also must recommend Gaia to anyone who wants to get away and be truly pampered.
Gaia Retreat & Spa is set in the hills above Byron Bay. Wayne and I had the pleasure of being invited there one weekend. It was truly beautiful. Thank you Olivia, we certainly felt special and relexed.
